FSI Lab Link is an exclusive initiative designed to foster collaboration among students from universities across Florida. Through research discussions, lab visits, and networking, students engage in meaningful exchanges that contribute to advancements in the semiconductor ecosystem—locally, nationally, and globally.
How It Works
Every other month, we will aim to have a university host a small group of students from a partner institution. Participants will present their research, tour labs, and engage in discussions designed to spark innovation, foster collaboration, and explore potential industry applications in the semiconductor field.
Who Can Participate?
Students with research interests in semiconductor-related topics. Preference is given to PhD students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year.
How Many Students Per Visit?
Up to 10 students will be selected. Typically, 5 students from the host university and 5 from the guest university will participate.
What to Expect During a Visit
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM | Arrival
- 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Research Presentations (10-15 min per student)
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM | Working Lunch & Q&A
- 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM | Lab Tours
- 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM | Final Discussions & Takeaways
- 3:30 PM | Departure
Why Participate?
- Expand Your Research Network – Connect with peers and faculty from other institutions.
- Gain Fresh Perspectives – Receive feedback on your research from experts outside your university.
- Visit State-of-the-Art Labs – Explore cutting-edge semiconductor research facilities.
- Enhance Your Presentation Skills – Share your work in a professional setting.

Travel
If you have been informed that your travel will be covered, please complete the travel request form below.
Note: If your travel is not covered, please do not complete this form.
Travel reimbursement is available for eligible participants up to $200 to $250. Please note that meal expenses are not reimbursable.
To minimize costs, participants are expected to ride share whenever possible. If ride sharing is not feasible, please contact us so that we may assist in identifying the most economical travel option, such as bus or train transportation.
For those sharing a ride, only the driver is eligible to request reimbursement for the rental vehicle and fuel costs. Rental vehicles must be small or compact cars; sports cars, vans, or other large vehicles will not be approved unless prior authorization is obtained.
Participants who travel by bus and require transportation (e.g., Uber or taxi) to the bus station may include that expense as part of their total reimbursable amount, provided the total does not exceed the $250 limit.
