Chip Chats – Official Guidelines & Participation Rulebook

Welcome to Chip Chats, a signature feature of the 2026 Florida Semiconductor Summit designed to highlight and elevate Florida-based or Florida-bound semiconductor startups. This interactive panel offers a unique platform for emerging companies to share their story, showcase their innovation, and inspire the broader ecosystem.

What are Chip Chats?

  • Format: A curated panel of 5 startup companies. Each participant receives 2 minutes for introductions, followed by a moderated discussion with questions tailored to highlight their journey, innovation, and future vision.
  • Purpose: Showcase your company to industry leaders and decision-makers, increase visibility, attract potential partners, and share your entrepreneurial story.
  • Audience: Industry leaders, government agencies, investors, university partners, and media representatives.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for Chip Chats, your company must meet the following:

Requirement Details
Location RequirementMust be headquartered in Florida
OR demonstrate active interest in relocating to Florida (e.g., expansion plans, facility scouting, etc.)
Startup DefinitionLess than 10 years old
Fewer than 50 full-time employees
Working in semiconductor design, manufacturing, materials, equipment, or related innovations
Exhibitor CommitmentParticipation requires purchase of a 10×10 exhibitor booth at a flat rate of $3,500.

Presentation Guidelines

If your project is selected, please follow these presentation guidelines:

StructureIntroduction (2 minutes): Who you are, what you do, and what sets you apart.
Moderator Q&A: Curated questions will explore your technology, how you got started, challenges you’ve faced, and your future goals.
Closing Remarks: A brief invitation to visit your booth and connect further.
RulesNo slide decks are required or allowed—this is a conversation-first format.
Keep responses concise, authentic, and audience focused.
Avoid overly sales-heavy language; emphasize innovation, impact, and your company’s story.

Selection Process

Due to limited panel spots, not all applicants will be able to participate in Chip Chats.

Selected panelists will be notified by January 16, 2026.

A selection committee will review applications and choose 5-8 finalists based on innovation, relevance, and fit with Summit goals.

All eligible companies that purchase an exhibitor booth will still receive full exhibitor benefits regardless of panel selection.

Priority consideration will be given to

  • Florida-based fabrication, materials, or design technology startups
  • Startups with innovative sustainability or workforce strategies

  • Discussions must not include confidential or proprietary information.
  • Only registered and paid exhibitors may participate.
