The Power of Partnerships: Central Florida’s Semiconductor Ecosystem

Description of Talk

An overview of Central Florida and its emerging semiconductor industry. This presentation will highlight the key role partnerships have played in the development of the region’s semiconductor ecosystem, including recent successes of the regional semiconductor coalition in securing BBBRC and NSF Engines awards. We will also explore future strategies for growing this network to drive economic growth, prosperity, and participation in the years ahead.

Biography

Jordan DeWitt is the Director of Policy & Strategic Initiatives at the Orlando Economic Partnership (the Partnership), where he plays a key role in shaping the organization’s policy priorities. His work includes driving investment in semiconductors and transportation, as well as bringing together regional leaders from the public, private, and non-profit sectors to advance initiatives that promote Broad-based Prosperity®.

Jordan is also part of the leadership team for the Florida Semiconductor Engine, where he focuses on Regional Engagement and Ecosystem Development. Following the Orlando region’s successful Build Back Better Regional Challenge award, he collaborated with the Florida High Tech Corridor (the Corridor) to establish the region’s first semiconductor cluster management organization. As the lead for the Cluster, Jordan works alongside the Corridor to foster its growth, manage partner relationships, and track progress toward key milestones.

Jordan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Central Florida (UCF). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Affairs at UCF, specializing in Community and Economic Development.
