Please join us in welcoming Istiaq Shiam, to the FSI team! We are excited to have Istiaq onboard as an Engineer II. Istiaq brings a strong background in semiconductor fabrication, equipment maintenance, and process optimization. He holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Texas State University, where he specialized in semiconductor material processing and characterization.
He has worked extensively with semiconductor processing equipment, including MOCVD, MBE, HFCVD, and various characterization tools like FIB-SEM, XRD, XPS, and AFM. His expertise also includes failure analysis, root cause investigation, and optimizing equipment reliability, which he looks forward to applying at FSI.
In his role, he will be responsible for maintaining advanced laboratory equipment, optimizing workflows for reliability studies, and training students and researchers. Additionally, he will collaborate on research projects, manage laboratory infrastructure, and contribute to technical publications.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and exploring nature—especially the mountains, which are his favorite getaways.
